A woman shopkeeper in Mohali has alleged that she faced repeated harassment and abusive behaviour from certain individuals near her shop in the Phase 1 market area. According to her, the accused frequently used abusive language and created disturbances, affecting both her safety and business operations.
The woman further claimed that when she approached the Phase 1 Police Station to file a complaint, officials allegedly threatened and intimidated her instead of registering her grievance. She alleged that the station house officer warned her of possible legal action and did not take her complaint seriously.
The incident has sparked protests and raised concerns about police accountability and the protection of citizens seeking help. Protesters have demanded a fair inquiry into the matter and urged authorities to ensure justice, transparency, and stronger safeguards for women facing harassment.
